What are you grateful for today?
Just sit back for a moment and think about all the people, places and events that you are thankful for. You are truly blessed, aren’t you?
Gratitude is simply a feeling or an emotion, but it can affect us greatly. It’s easy to overlook, but when we focus on acknowledging the many blessings in our lives, we feel better about ourselves and what the future may hold.
Gratitude is a good habit to get into. Take time every day to give thanks, and start by looking within.
Prayer or meditation is the best way. Find a quiet, happy place that you love and then quiet yourself. Breathe deeply, close your eyes, and focus on recognising and appreciating that which is important to you.
Start with the flowers in your garden or the gentle invitation of your favourite room. Think about the small things first, so they don’t get lost in your thoughts later on.
Now you’re smiling, aren’t you?
Then consider the more intimate influences on your life. Those you love and care for, your beautiful home and all its amenities, the freedom you have to be yourself. There are so many things that profoundly affect you, and that are worthy of your deep-rooted gratitude.
Give thanks every day. Make it a conscious, active part of your routine. It won’t be long before things in your surroundings will trigger an attitude of gratitude. You will smile once again and know that all is well.
Life is a journey
